I recently worked on a project for a friend’s website where I created a bunch of handmade letters. His logo had a collaged look before, but he wanted a more funky hand-made update.
This was one of the most fun projects I have ever worked on. Each letter became an exciting challenge, using many different mediums and font styles, from embroidery to hand-carved prints. I have to admit I got slightly obsessed with this project, I became a kind-of letter maniac.
I learned that I LOVE handmade typography. If only every project could be this fun!
And here is how he put the letters together on his website:
Now you ask, what is “My Future Self”? Only one of the greatest things online! It was created by Canton Becker. Here’s how he describes it:
My Future Self is a private journal you will keep via email, sometimes responding to questions about your life, sometimes by sending an email just because you feel like writing down what happened today. You can even mail in photos or short videos.
The only time you’ll return to this website will be to explore what you’ve written. When you do come back, what makes this site special is that your stories will automatically be organized into timelines, places, dates, and relationships so that you can better visualize and understand the story of your life.
Meanwhile, Your Future Self is waiting to hear from you! Every now and then, you’ll receive a time capsule question. Your response will be sealed away for as little as a year or as long as 5 years. When the waiting period is over, your correspondence will be delivered back to you. Surprise yourself! Give advice to Future You.
There you have it!
